Job Description

As a Research Analyst within Jarden's Australian Equities Research team, you will be conducting research and analysis on a portfolio of companies across the Industrials sector, on behalf of institutional asset management clients. With a passion for equity markets, you will possess a creative mind and use your initiative to 'think outside the square' to contribute to a dynamic and highly rated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing comprehensive research and analysis on listed companies across the industrials sector, with a focus on providing strategic insights
  • Interpretation of news/market announcements/regulatory filings to form nuanced perspectives on industry trends and potential impacts on portfolio companies
  • Creation and refinement of sophisticated financial models that underpin research reports and recommendations
  • Performing in-depth analysis of key industry and company-specific revenue/earnings drivers and maintaining a deep understanding of market dynamics
  • Managing and monitoring the research production process, via the timely completion of commercial, compliance research insights
  • Assisting with client and internal requests, providing expert guidance on listed companies and related industries
  • Overseeing the management of databases including the use of internal and third-party data sources, ensuring the availability of accurate and comprehensive information.

You are a critical thinker who has the confidence to question the status quo and enjoy working pro-actively by possessing a genuine sense of curiosity, great attitude, and willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic, high-pressured environment. You have the ability to build strong relationships across the research and sales team as well as with clients.  

In addition, you have:

  • An understanding of the industrials sector and market terminology with either direct industry experience or exposure through equity research, actuarial or corporate finance roles being highly regarded
  • Exceptional proficiency in Excel and advanced financial modelling skills coupled with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles
  • Expertise in corporate finance valuation methodologies and an understanding of equity market valuation metrics
  • A high degree of attention to detail and well-developed report writing skills with the ability to distil in-depth analysis in a clear and concise manner
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling the articulation of complex ideas clearly and succinctly
  • A strong academic foundation / relevant tertiary qualification in Actuarial, Finance or Accounting disciplines. Postgraduate qualifications such as FIAA, CA or CFA will be highly regarded.
